Profs. Raffaella De Vita, Alex Leonessa, Ashley Shew, with Mr. Hal Brackett and Mark Nichols organize a two-day long STEMABILITY summer camp for high school students with disabilities who are interested in a career in science and engineering.
Many professors, undergraduate and graduate students at Virginia Tech contribute to the success of this summer camp. This is really a team effort!!!
High School Students
There are many challenges that students encounter as they make the transition from high school to college. During the junior and senior high school years, students must decide to which colleges apply, based on their interests, academic achievements, personal skills, and finances. The transition to college is far more challenging for students with disabilities.
STEMABILITY is a summer camp that aims to help high school students with disabilities.
Parents will have the opportunity to learn about the services that are offered at Virginia Tech by the Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) office.
They wll learn about their changing roles as their sons and daughters approach college.
